Meditation

Our private Meditation Program has been designed by Ayurvedic Practitioner - Monica Bhatia Groover, PhD, who is the founder of San Diego College of Ayurveda. (Spiritual name: Manjulali), and, Pandit Atul Krishna Das. The vastu and altar portion of the workshop(s), classes and program is inspired and may have a guest lecture by Micheal Mastro.

Pandit Atul Krishna Das and Dr Monica B Groover, a.k.a Manjulali studied different meditation techniques under their spiritual master(s) for many years. Pandit Atul Krishna was teaching meditation and giving spiritual and Vedanta classes in the ashram for many years.

Manjulali under her first spiritual guide and her father from a young age. At 22, she joined a Gaudiya Monastery and learnt many meditation techniques.

Being an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Manjulali understood that all meditation is not created equal. If we are all unique, then meditation must be customized to our body and mind -- rather than the other way around.

Manju has developed a 5 STEP Meditation program that has helped and benefited people who suffered from Insmonia, Stress, Chronic Fatigue syndrome, Hot flashes, Headaches, Emotional Trauma, Childhood Issues, Inability to form intimate relationships. Please note that this is a spiritual program, and, NOT, a psychological and scientific program. None of these claims are recognized by FDA.

It is a spiritual meditation technique combining Yoga Breathing, Ayurveda, Mantras, Visualization Tools to help release deep rooted beliefs, Emotional Issues and Stress.

We start off with breathing techniques, studying different meditation techniques, different personalities--Vata, Pitta and Kapha all have different affinities to different meditations--aromatherapy and setting an environment. Mantras, as well as a a guided script. Focus is also on personal meditation practice for your own mindset, and body and mind type.
Our First Step is:

1. Setting the stage n We start off by setting the stage, or environment to facilitate meditation. This is done externally by creating an altar outside with use of principles of Vastu. Internally, we set up an altar in our mind by first determining your 'mind' type, your mantra and your diety, as well as your crystals and best aromatherapy for you.

2. Intention and Pranayama (Breathing prior to Meditation)in Bhagavad Gita: We set the INTENTION of the program, and, study the use of breathing and meditation in Bhagavad Gita. Using our breath and prana as a tool to control our manasa. We also decide the use of meditation tools that will help your 'mind' type. (Visualization, Music, Mantras, Guided Voice etc.)

We teach you a number of breathing exercises, suited specifically to your dosha. Shitali breath, Kriyas, Alternate Breathing, and bringing your mind and body through the simple tools of Pranayama are taught. Focus is on Shitali breathing, breathing awareness, and,

3. Guided Meditation: We expect you to listen to different guided meditation and maintain a journal of the effect, or lack of it had on you. We also lead you through a guided meditation

4. Use of Five Senses and Five Elements: Nose- Use of Breath, Hands- Powerful Mudras, Use of Earth element, water element, air element, fire element and space element through Crystals, holy water, Incense, diya (candle made of ghee) and bells

5. Mantra and KIRTAN Meditation: Use of Breath, Powerful Yoga Mudras and Mantras with intent to clear the mental 'ama', give clarity, focus, and help achieve the goals set in the beginning of the program.

We ALSO CONDUCT A KARMA CLEANSE "HOMA" at times to help rid of previous Karma.

VedavyasMeditation in the modern world has taken many connotations with the very essence of meditation, being absent from these modern day practices.

In the west, yoga enthusiasts are following Ashtanga Yoga for physical benefits without interest in the yama, niyama, asana, dhyana and meditating improperly without a spiritual guide.

Meditation without an ‘object of meditation’ will not give permanent benefit, however ,when learnt under a trained teacher who will give you the tools to combine meditation with your own dosha or psycho somatic constitution, you will be able to invite health and balance in your life.

Meditation has been known to help prevent and heal mental, physical and emotional wellness.

BREATHING EXERCISES - PRANAYAMA

Have you noticed how none of us really Breathe Properly?

Not breathing properly can lead to various health problems over a period of time.

With Pranayama, or, yoga breathing, it is possible to increase the capacity of our lungs to inhale more oxygen, and supply to the body.

You will learn how to breathe slowly and deeply.

There are many kind of Breathing exercises in Yoga. Some are meant to increase your 'Agni' or digestive fire. A good example is kriyas like Ujjayi Breathing, or, Kapalbhatti.

Other breathing exercises like alternate nose breathing with Vishnu 'Mudra', also known as Alom Vilom can help center and calm you, increase your oxygen intake, and, help you with issues like Asthma, Stress, Insomnia, Headaches, Chronic Fatigue.

Prana literally means LIFE FORCE or 'chi'. By drawing the 'chi' or prana from our envirnoment, and breathing properly - we can increase our 'life' expenctancy.

Breathing exercises, or, Pranayama can reduce toxins, help digestion, increase metabolism, develop mental clarity and help achieve a state of deep relaxation and peace.

We combine the breathing exercises with Mantras, visualization techniques, yoga mudras, or premordial sounds that can help balance and center you.

All classes are private.

Chakra Balancing Meditation

There are innumerable channels in our body called Nadis. The three main nadis are SUSHUMNA, IDA and PINGALA. These three nadis cross each other and make a 'energy' center called Chakras.

Chakras can be literally translated as a 'Wheel'. A wheel of energy.

Some Ayurvedic Practitioners believe, that Marma points and chakras are one and the same.

There are 107 Marma Points in the human body, that are used in Ayurvedic Massage to relieve blockages, pain and so on.

Chakras directly correspond to our Endocrine glands, and, Meditation with an intention to balance your chakras can help balance the functioning of Endocrine glands.

Please note that this is not verified by FDA. However, studies have shown that Meditation (Chakra balancing, guided meditation!) can lower blood pressure, help insomnia, and, help regulate the metabolism and even gland function.

If you feel imbalanced, suffer from insomnia, thyroid dysfunction, chronic stress, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, headaches - try the Chakra Balancing Meditation.

Guided Meditation

Guided visualization is a technique, used for 'visual' and 'auditory' learners.

Taught by Powerful Psychic and/or physical mediums who use Archangels, and dieties with mantras to help heal inner trauma like dealing with passing of a loved one, end of a relationship, divorce, work related or person related trauma.

If you are new to meditation, or, respond better to 'visual' and auditory cues - and open to psychic and spirit guidance.

Then, guided visualization techniques is the best way to start your meditation journey.

For beginners, guided mediation is very beneficial. I incorporate guided meditation and quiet meditation all the time in my own practice and in my yoga classes. My friends/students have been very responsive to this. I start new students out with short sessions, maybe even just 10 minutes depending on what ‘type’ they are, what there life is like, how they are breathing, background, etc!

Meditation can help lower blood pressure, and a few minutes can bring abundance and help center you. It can bring you peace and happiness in a crazy world where we are all on the go.Meditation is a state of mind, where you can visualize and accomplish all that you can, let go of childhood issues, and, move on with life.

Private Session

Mantra Meditation

Mantra Meditation, is a third step in our Karma Cleanse Meditation Program.

After learning different breathing techniques, and, use of yoga mudras, (powerful gestures); now, is the time to move onto powerful Vedic sounds (Beeja Mantras. These sounds are like tuning fork to our energetic bio electromagnetic field - and, help balance us immediately!

As Dr. Frawley mentioned in his book “Ayurveda and the Mind” Mantras serves like a boat to take us across the ocean of the unconscious. Mantra prepared meditation is easier, safer and more powerful than trying to meditate directly.

In Vedas, the ‘direction’ as well as the TIME of meditation is very important as well.

For example, early morning just before the sunrise –is the VATA time. Mind is light, full of clarity (If you are balanced!), then, benefits of meditation can be 10 fold.

Also, whenever ‘two’ times are meeting and becoming one- Morning and Night, Morning and noon as well as noon and evening.

We call it ‘SANDHYA’.

These specific times relate to different meditation.

Now, corelate a Kapha Mind, Pitta Mind and Vata Mind—Pitta should meditate in the morning, Kapha should meditate at noon and Vata early morning!

YOGA MUDRAS MEDITATION

YOGA MUDRA Meditation

YOGA MUDRAS: POWERFUL HAND GESTURES With MEDITATION BREATHING

We start off with PRANAYAMA or breathing exercises.

Then, we move on to use of mudras and mantras to balance and meditate, let go of stress.

Learn a powerful way to access your core being, transform body and mind, and bring an element of beauty and devotion to your spiritual practice.

Mudras are used for healing, concentration, and expanding consciousness, and they are an essential part of Odissi Dance, Indian Yoga, and Meditation.

In Indian Dance, mudras are used to communicate deep feelings and tell intricate stories. Energetically, they hold the power to transform raw life-power into subtle spiritual expression.
